A global company that serves within the defence and aerospace industry seek an experienced tax accountant for a temporary assignment.
Reporting into the Tax Manager within a team you will be responsible for Group tax reporting and corporate tax compliance for all UK group companies, certain joint ventures and overseas companies.
Ideally you will have gained your experience in a major accounting firm or a larger commercial organisation. You will be presented with demanding tax and tax accounting challenges requiring strong technical, organisational and communication skills. Essential to the role is an interest in working with figures and an ability to analyse and critically review the detailed information provided. Managing the demanding workload requires the ability to work well both in a team and independently. You will need to be tenacious in dealing with the contacts at the business units to ensure high quality results whilst also acting as an ambassador for Group Tax, raising tax awareness and the profile of Group Tax. Good computer skills and experience in Alphatax are advantageous.
Responsibilities: - Responsible for the tax compliance for a portfolio of companies - Preparation of corporation tax computations for the UK group companies for submission to HMRC - Dealing with all aspects of UK corporation tax administration including the maintenance of group schedules - Corresponding and liaising with the HMRC - Assisting in the preparation of half year tax provisions for inclusion in the statutory accounts for the Group - Carrying out a tax review of the draft statutory accounts and preparing tax provisions for inclusion therein - Undertaking other ad hoc tax compliance based work as and when the need arises
